The graduates – Jordan Stanford, Richard Nock, Matthew Holyoake, and Xzara Foster – have successfully completed the top-up degree designed for students who previously achieved an HND in Engineering. This innovative course enables learners to progress to a full bachelor’s degree while benefiting from NTU Mansfield’s flexible approach, allowing them to step on and off study from Level 4 to Level 6 by completing the HNC, HND, and top-up degree as separate qualifications.
This suite of engineering courses is tailored to meet local industry needs, helping to address regional skills gaps and future-proof the workforce.
Patrick Barber, Principal Lecturer in Engineering, said:
"This is a proud moment for NTU and for the graduates who have worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone. The Engineering Management top-up degree is designed to give talented individuals the opportunity to advance their careers while supporting the needs of local employers. Seeing this first cohort succeed is a testament to the strength of our partnership with industry and our commitment to flexible, high-quality education."
One of the graduates, Jordan Stanford, who works at Glenair in Mansfield, shared his experience:
"I was able to study for my degree at NTU Mansfield whilst working at the same time, which has been great. I haven’t had to choose between my work or my degree."
