Nottingham Business School named a global winner in PRME's Excellence in SIP Reporting awards

Nottingham Business School (NBS), part of Nottingham Trent University (NTU), has been named a winner of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) Recognition of Excellence in SIP Reporting for the 2025 reporting period — one of only ten business schools worldwide to receive the honour.

The award was announced at the 2026 PRME Global Forum in Cairo, Egypt, on 29 June, where NBS was recognised as an Overall Winner. PRME, an initiative of the United Nations Global Compact, brings together a global community of more than 800 signatory business schools. NBS is one of the initiative's PRME Champions, a distinguished group of 50 business schools selected for their exemplary commitment and leadership to advancing responsible management education

The Sharing Information on Progress (SIP) report is how schools account for their progress in embedding responsible management education across strategy, teaching, research and engagement. Reports submitted between March and September 2025 were reviewed holistically, with the strongest submissions showing strategic integration and continuous improvement.

The jury singled out how NBS has embedded sustainability as a strategic priority, supported by a clear action plan, course-level requirements, departmental Sustainability/PRME representatives, and ongoing mapping of ethics, responsibility, sustainability and the SDGs across the curriculum. It also praised the report's transparency and consistent focus on impact.

Professor Baback Yazdani, Executive Dean of Nottingham Business School, said: "To be recognised among just ten schools worldwide is a real source of pride, and it reflects the work of colleagues right across NBS. As a PRME Champion, embedding responsible management education isn't a separate initiative for us, it runs through our teaching, our research and the way we work with business and society. This award tells us that commitment is making a genuine difference."

NBS was recognised alongside institutions in Australia, Canada, Pakistan, the Philippines, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Switzerland and the United States.
