Becoming a partner — our offer for businesses

NTU provides workforce development to help businesses achieve their strategic organisational objectives.

Expert development for organisations

NTU is committed to nurturing long-term partnerships to meet the unique needs of your organisation. Training packages are developed in partnership, drawing on the expertise that each party brings to the table.  We take a flexible, innovative approach that allows us to find the right solution for you.

Professional Development Collaborations provide workforce development for organisations, helping you to achieve your organisational objectives. We can work with you to develop and enhance existing professional development and training programmes, or co-create new ones. These will often lead to an NTU award. They have a range of benefits:

  • Professionalised training and development, increasing the value to employees through the award of academic credit or qualifications.
  • Increased return on investment in training for businesses through programmes  designed for high impact by experienced instructional designers;
  • Making the best use of internal subject matter experts rather than deferring to external providers;
  • Increased use and value of the workplace as a training and development environment;

Professional development collaborations may be based on an organisation’s existing provision or involve the joint development of new provision. Training programmes are recognised for academic credit, which may lead to a University award.

Our services

We work with organisations to scope out proposals and decide the best way to take the partnership forward. We take a collaborative approach throughout the development process to create high-value and robust partnerships.

For detailed information on the process for creating a new partnership, please see Quality Handbook Section 10B.

We offer all partners workshops with experts in teaching and learning. These will explore the needs of your organisation and help to craft a training package that caters to your requirements, and which is occupationally relevant.

We are strong advocates of the power of working together and we actively seek opportunities for cross and intra-departmental working to achieve organisational objectives.

For businesses and organisations whose own staff will be delivering or supporting the delivery of higher education qualifications, we offer a range of training packages, including teaching qualifications.

NTU can offer a quality assurance and enhancement service which forms part of an ongoing support package. This gives value to your business by providing you with assurance that the training package is regularly reviewed and enhanced to maintain its high quality and currency.
