Scholarship of Teaching and Learning at NTU
We see Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) as a chance to reflect and share best practice tips to contribute to high-quality teaching and enhancement of student learning opportunities and outcomes across at NTU. SoTL is multifaceted and enacted across overlapping levels: individual, institutional and external.
Professional qualifications in learning and teaching
The Academic Professional Apprenticeship (APA) / Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (PGCLTHE) offers colleagues a way to develop their academic practice and gain valuable qualifications such as the Level 7 teaching qualification and Fellowship of Advance HE.
Learning and Teaching Professional Development
Our goal at NTU is to provide continuous professional development opportunities for those who teach and support students across the university. We are champions of NTU’s Success for All (SfA) initiative and actively promote inclusive learning and teaching opportunities through the work that we do.
Trent Institute for Learning and Teaching (TILT)
Established in 2015, TILT is an initiative to support excellence in learning and teaching at NTU. Over the years it has grown to become a a highly-regarded inclusive community for everyone which creates opportunities for professional staff to develop their skills, share ideas, and innovate together.
NTU Professional Recognition: AdvanceHE Fellowship
The NTU Professional Recognition Scheme offers all colleagues, at any stage in their career, the chance to celebrate the fantastic work they do in supporting learning and teaching at the institution and gain AdvanceHE Fellowship status.
