Primary outreach programme

Explore our primary school classroom sessions and how we support pupils to gain early information about higher education.

Our outreach programmes

Classroom provision

The primary outreach programme introduces Year 5 and Year 6 pupils to the concept of university and gives them the opportunity to discuss some of the myths surrounding higher education.

Through in-school, classroom based activities they will discover what a university looks like, learn about aspects of student life and develop key vocabulary linked to university.

Students in Classrooms (Primary Learning Advocates)

Primary Learning Advocates support attainment raising in primary schools by assisting with small group learning or providing 1:1 support to targeted pupils who are falling behind in their expected level for literacy for their age. Our students follow the guidance of teachers in the classroom and they inspire, motivate and support pupils in their learning.

Year 6 campus visit

A Year 6 campus visit will bring university to life and support your pupils in making a smooth transition into secondary school.
