NTU Amplify Growth is designed to help small businesses in Nottingham City to thrive and grow.

Funded by the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), the support is designed to benefit early stage and growing businesses in the Creative and Digital industries (CreaTech) or in the CleanTech sector.

If you run a business in Nottingham and need some help to define your customer base, refine your value proposition, commercialise your ideas, gain new markets or become a better leader, this programme could be for you.

Businesses will be supported through a combination of sector-tailored workshops, mentoring and peer networking. Our expert speakers will share their learning in a supportive and friendly environment, and we will invite experienced business leaders to share their experiences – whether good, bad or those to learn from!

The support will start with a comprehensive diagnostic to help our team get to know the challenges and opportunities that your business faces and discuss the support and expertise that would help you the most.

At the heart of the support, the Amplify Growth programme will include workshops covering areas such as;

  • Your growth strategy
  • Routes to market and communications
  • Leadership, and all things people
  • Legal and copyright challenges
  • Funding and financing your growth
  • Pitching, promotion and sales
  • Mission, values and responsible business
  • Sustainability and metrics

Each participant will receive 1-2-1 or small group mentoring to help them to get the most out of the programme. Peer support will come from others in the group, and opportunities to meet with our extensive business network.

The CreaTech sector includes a wide range of Creative and Digital services:

  • Advertising and marketing

  • Graphic design
  • Gaming and apps
  • Museums, galleries and libraries
  • Artificial intelligence

The CleanTech sector is just as diverse and includes organisations that commit to reducing their use of natural resources and the impact of their production, operations, products and services.

CleanTech businesses might be trying to do more with less, use renewable resources, or produce less waste – so that could involve almost any sector or business just trying to do things differently and for good.

Some examples might include:

  • Sustainable product design, such as packaging or fashion
  • Sustainable transport and logistics
  • Sustainable food production, processing and preparation
  • Wellbeing and healthy lifestyle support
  • Energy generation, storage and infrastructure
  • Recycling and waste

But CleanTeach might also involve:

  • Using alternative materials
  • Applying eco-efficient production techniques or green technology
  • Adopting renewable energy and water treatments
  • Improving energy efficiency
  • Changing customer behaviour
  • Monitoring sustainable improvements
