Corporate and Insolvency Law (Full-time, Part-time or Distance learning)

LLM Corporate and Insolvency Law is oriented around the law as it relates to corporate entities and, in particular, offers the opportunity to focus on legal responses to incidences of insolvency in this area.

General Law (Full-time or Part-time)

Our LLM Law (General) provides an exciting and flexible approach to postgraduate study, allowing you to build an LLM course to suit your specialist interests and requirements.

Health Law and Ethics (Full-time or Part-time)

This course examines general principles such as consent to treatment and medical ethics, together with more specialist areas of Health Law including the law relating to:

  • organ transplants
  • reproduction and the law
  • mental health law
  • medicines and pharmacy law
  • employment and health.

You will gain an insight into the impact of the Human Rights Act 1998 on healthcare and the law, as well as exploring the link between ill health and poverty and the implications of this.

Human Rights and Justice (Full-time or Part-time)

Nottingham Law School has significant academic expertise in the areas of human rights and justice. The course parallels the historical and contemporary significance of these aspects of law, in particular their growth as topics of both domestic and international importance over recent decades.

Intellectual Property Law (Full-time or Part-time)

Intellectual property is an exciting and increasingly important area of law, particularly internationally and EU-wide. On this course you'll have opportunities to explore intellectual property law in both UK and EU contexts, together with the links to competition law and sport.

International Financial Law (Full-time)

Our LLM International Financial Law course has been designed to respond to the rapid growth in the development of the law in international finance and to equip students for future careers in the financial sectors.

The course not only focuses on financial transactions and banking, but also insurance, which is a huge industry in both the UK and internationally.

International Legal Studies (Distance learning)

This course is designed to allow completion of the top-up element over a recommended one-year period, with an option to continue for a further year. This would allow students to undertake study immediately following the completion of their professional practice qualification (e.g. LPC or BPTC) and complete the course quickly, but also offers more flexible time frames for completing the self-study module while already in professional practice working full-time.

Oil, Gas and Mining Law (Full-time, Part-time or Distance learning)

This course will provide you with a strong analytical understanding of the key legal issues in the area, with a particular focus on the Environmental Law and Investment Law aspects of the oil, gas and mining industries. It also draws on our strengths in International Trade and Commercial Law, which will help you gain an appreciation of the oil, gas and mining industries in their global economic context.

Sports Law (Full-time or Part-time)

The influence of UK, European and international law and regulations in sport is increasing, and this course focuses on the regulation of sport at a UK and EU level. You will explore areas such as Sport, Law and the Human Body and benefit from our considerable expertise in the related areas of Health and Intellectual Property Law.
