Introduction:
Approximately 1 in 7 people identify with one or more neurodivergent conditions, so it is important to understand what neurodiversity is and how to encourage contributions from neurodivergent employees.
Achieving inclusion begins with understanding the diverse ways individuals experience the world, including the workplace. The Neurodiversity in the Workplace course is designed to build awareness and provide the tools for professionals to support neurodivergent colleagues effectively within their teams and businesses, making the most of their unique strengths.
In this course, we will explore how we can all better support and develop neurodivergent employees and harness their unique talents to create an inclusive workplace culture for everyone.
This course is open to anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of neurodiversity and will be of particular interest to those working in human resource management and specialised equality, diversity and inclusion specialist roles.

What you’ll study
Course Overview
The Neurodiversity in the Workplace course offers a range of proven workplace adjustments and empowers participants to develop impactful ideas and plans for advancing neuro-inclusion within their teams and organisations, and means participants will gain essential insights to make informed recommendations to drive meaningful change.
By optimising contributions from employees with diverse cognitive styles, participants can help create a more dynamic and productive work environment while avoiding potential complexities in performance management.
Additionally, this course gives professionals the knowledge of appropriate language when discussing neurodivergence and ensures that professionals stay current with neuro-inclusion, demonstrating a commitment to a supportive and progressive workplace culture.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand what is meant by neurodiversity and its importance to the workplace
- Acquire confidence in talking about neurodivergence
- Identify the strengths associated with neurodivergence
- Be able to optimise contributions from neurodivergent colleagues
- Identifying inclusive practices for attracting, hiring, retention and career progression
- Have the knowledge to create an action plan for delivering improved neuro-inclusion within your team.

- Hiring, progression, daily working – identifying inclusive practices.
How you’re taught
This short course is delivered as a half day programme in-person at our City Campus.
Facilitators
This course is delivered by: Anne Cockayne.
Anne is a senior lecturer in the Department of Human Resource Management and is a qualified coach. She contributes to the Learning and Development module for the professional CIPD programmes and supports the FT MSc HRM students as an academic mentor. Anne continues to enjoy working with the SME sector.

The fee for this course is £195.
