Employability events

As an NTU student, you’re backed by our Employability Promise — a support package covering everything from finding part-time work, to crafting the perfect portfolio, to getting noticed by employers.

Part of that promise is the events and workshops we run throughout the year. They’re about connections, opportunities, and gaining new knowledge. And by learning from employers, recruitment experts, and even our own successful graduates, you’ll take a few steps further forward in a highly competitive job market.

Employability events, workshops and support sessions

Careers fairs

These fairs put you face-to-face with the local, national and international employers on the lookout for the latest NTU talent. Some of the fairs are industry-specific, and others are more general, but they’re all great opportunities to make connections and develop a proper understanding of your dream job — plus what it’ll take to secure it!

Employer sessions

What do employers want? What makes a fresh new journalist, forensic scientist, or conservationist stand out in a crowded market? In these sessions, visiting employers share their tips on everything from the perfect LinkedIn profile to professional pathways and opportunities you might not even have considered yet.

Employability workshops

Where do you start with your CV? How long should a cover letter be? What key points do you need to hit when you’re writing a job application, and how do you stay calm and composed in the interview? You’ll find the answers to these questions (and many more) at our friendly ‘How to…’ workshops.

Exclusive final-year support

It might feel a long time away but your final year will arrive before you know it. By that point in your NTU journey, you’ll be hungry for as many first-hand insights and connections as you can get — and that’s when our dedicated final-year events really shine. Combine drop-in sessions and one-on-one career coaching with big networking conferences, and enjoy an audience with our graduates, returning to share the secrets of their professional successes.
