Research at NTU

To us, research is about more than writing papers and proposing new ideas. It’s about breaking down barriers and tackling society’s problems in the wild, not just in a laboratory. It’s about bringing together the brightest minds to reimagine research and find the answers to the questions that really matter.

That’s what world-leading research looks like to us. By daring to think differently, we’re using the latest astronomy techniques to better understand ancient cave paintings. We’re unearthing the truths behind social media addiction and fighting to make gaming addiction a recognised mental health disorder. We’re applying the latest textile innovations to the healthcare industry to create living, breathing synthetic organs and we’re leading developments in sustainable food production to build the farms of the future.

Courage, creativity and collaboration— these are the foundations of our research. And we are just getting started. Our brave approach to research is opening the door to bright new ideas and endless possibilities. For our colleagues and students, we are disrupting the internal landscape to enable bright minds to rise up and make a difference. For businesses, we are redefining what it means to engage with our community and for our community, we are creating new opportunities to build and grow.
