Department of Property Management and Development

We are one of the UK’s largest and most established providers of property education, with over 40 years’ experience in developing successful real estate, property development and building surveying graduates.

We deliver innovative vocational education that prepares highly qualified graduates for industry, and our large alumni network spans property and construction industries across the world.

We manage a range of courses in real estate, property investment and development and building surveying. Our strong industry links, high-profile partnerships and broad range of expertise enable us to develop and support our students at every level through undergraduate, postgraduate taught and research and degree apprenticeship study routes.

Working closely with professional bodies that accredit our courses – the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and the Chartered Association of Building Engineers (CABE) – key investors, consultants, developers and property managers in industry, we ensure our courses meet the highest professional standards and remain contemporary.

The University has invested a massive £90 million in the regeneration of two Grade II* listed buildings, Newton and Arkwright, at the heart of the City Campus. Arkwright is home to our inspiring studio spaces where our students are encouraged to work collaboratively and experiment with ideas.
