Congratulations on your offer!
Accepting your offer to study one of our Animation & Visual Effects courses at NTU means becoming part of a cutting-edge, technology-driven creative community. You’ll work at the intersection of animation, games, visual effects and digital storytelling, and learning to bring ideas to life with skill, imagination and impact. Whether your passion lies in 2D or 3D animation, gaming, VFX or immersive media, this is your chance to step into a world where your creativity meets professional-level craft.
Why accept your offer?
From the start, you’ll dive into real projects: animating characters, modelling game environments, designing visual effects or building interactive worlds. NTU’s Digital Screen Arts courses cover a broad range from traditional animation and 3D modelling to visual effects art and games design, giving you the freedom to explore what you love, and the foundation to master it.
You’ll study in the brand-new Design & Digital Arts Building, a state-of-the-art hub purpose-built for digital screen disciplines. Expect high-spec 3D workstations, Wacom Cintiq drawing stations, professional audio booths, green-screen and VFX studios, motion capture rigs, and virtual-production/immersive media suites. It’s the kind of environment used by industry professionals, giving you the tools to experiment, create and deliver work at a professional level.
Throughout your course you’ll collaborate on live projects, guest-led briefs, competitions and interdisciplinary modules, working on animation, games, VFX or digital media. You’ll graduate with a strong showreel or demo portfolio, demonstrating practical skills, creative flexibility and real-world readiness. For many students, this leads directly to roles in animation studios, game development, VFX houses or other digital media environments.
Digital Screen Arts at NTU isn’t just about solo work - collaboration is built-in. Across courses and disciplines, you’ll work with peers from animation, games, visual communication, film and more. Plus, studying in Nottingham means you’re part of a city with growing creative industries, cultural events, student-friendly living, and a supportive community of makers and creators.
Whether you’re drawn to 2D cartoon-style animation, cinematic VFX, immersive games or interactive media, Digital Screen Arts offers a broad foundation. That versatility means you graduate ready for a diverse range of paths, from film and television to games, online media, advertising, immersive experiences or creative tech.
