More about Jodie
The Agriculture course at Brackenhurst had a good reputation and great facilities, including nice classrooms, library and orangery.
The course is a mixture of practicals, classroom lectures and trips. We learn of a range of things including crops, livestock and machinery. I enjoy the crop lessons and walks the most as well as the trips where you see the industry in action.
Some advice for future students wanting to study this course: Sort out your work experience ASAP and keep on top of assignments! I did a three-week dairy placement and really enjoyed it, especially looking after the calves.
The tutors are really good and helpful and make lessons really enjoyable. The Employability team were really helpful when I needed to write my personal statement to apply for university.
I want to be an agronomist and Brackenhurst has helped me to get a grant from Newark & Notts Agricultural Society to put towards my foundation award in agronomy.
