Why did you choose to study your course at Brackenhurst?
After seeing the Agriculture Level 3 Extended Diploma course advertised, I was immediately intrigued by the idea of studying farming. This course covers a wide range of topics involved in the agricultural industry from machinery to an aspect of horticulture which would interest almost anyone.
Tell us more about your course. What do you enjoy studying the most?
The course works so well, having a healthy mix of theoretical lessons and practical, in the field sessions. This helps increase the rate of learning and correct execution of skills, setting pupils up for the real world and success in a real work area.
Personally, I enjoy being able to understand different job roles in British farming with thanks to the visitors we have, and the knowledge shared with us from our lecturers of their first-hand experience in agriculture.
The course gave us the opportunity to visit machinery shows and demonstrations, along with field talks on other farms to allow us to make our own connections and relations with employers. This really helps students appreciate the work that goes into the process of putting food on our tables.
What do you think about Brackenhurst Campus?
The facilities provided at NTU Brackenhurst make it one of the best in the country, with a working farm and award-winning Lincoln Red cows, a lambing season with their own sheep and top of the range machines, it really has it all.
At Brackenhurst I have made many friends, many of which are connections for life.
