I've worked on two live briefs one with ASICs and the other with Boots. They were both incredible experiences mainly because I was able to get a feel of the industry and share my ideas with industry experts.

More about Elizabeth

Why did you choose NTU and your course?

"I chose my course because it combines both creative and analytical skills, allowing me to pursue my interest in the fashion and lifestyle industry but still keeping the marketing side to it which I was interested in. I picked NTU because I really like Nottingham and the campus, and also because of the positive rankings NTU has for their fashion courses."

What is your favourite thing about Fashion Marketing and Branding?

"My favourite thing about my course is that it is dynamic, and no year is the same. We get the chance to work on different types of briefs and learn many different aspects of marketing and branding making the course very stimulating and motivating. Additionally, all the course staff have been supportive throughout all the years. they are always ready to help support you and are very friendly."

Have you completed any live projects or briefs on your course?

"In second year, I worked on two live briefs, one with ASICS and the other with Boots. They were both incredible experiences mainly because I was able to get a feel of the industry and also share my ideas with industry experts. I was also shortlisted as one of the top five out of 40 projects from ASICS and I had the amazing opportunity to share my final ideas with the ASICS team."

Can you tell us about some of the trips and guest speaker visits your course has included?

"Since first year we have always had guest speakers from different backgrounds i.e. trend forecasters, industry experts, alumni etc. deliver lectures for us. These have always been very interesting and inspiring."

Have you used any of the student support services or NTU's Employability team How have you found this experience?

"I've used the Employability team resources multiple times mainly through second and third year. they offer you excellent support and they have a lot of resources available and easy to access. They have helped me plan for life beyond NTU as well by working with me to develop my CV, teach me skills for my cover letter and help me apply for future jobs."

What do you think about living and studying in Nottingham?

"Nottingham is a fun, cool and diverse city. There are some very interesting areas to visit for creative inspiration like Hockley or Sneinton Market, which I would particularly recommend as there are lots of independent shops and brands including vintage clothes, craft beer and a very nice café. Also the Nottingham Contemporary which always has very interesting exhibitions and events going on, is a great place to visit."

If you could give new students some advice what would it be?

"I would say to not be scared of trying different things out and even if at the start things might not go as planned, you will learn from your mistakes and improve. If you don't try, you'll never learn."

What is next for you after NTU?

"I'd love to be able to secure a job in marketing or digital marketing in the fashion and lifestyle industry, hoping to become a fashion marketing director in the future."
