Why NTU…
What inspired you to study your subject?
Studying both Media and Art at A-Level truly inspired me to think creatively in different ways, therefore the opportunity to work with new equipment and facilities was exciting to me. Curiosity naturally led me away from traditional art and into the world of digital media!
Why did you choose your course and NTU?
I chose my course here as I felt it provided a strong variety of modules, where I could investigate different fields, before I decided what to specialise in. I chose NTU as I knew they had creative courses that other universities lacked, and this gave me the chance to solidify and pursue where my passion was. At NTU, I felt like I could still improve on familiar skills, as well as explore new areas.
What’s your experience been like of your course so far? Can you pick out any highlights?
It’s been very insightful and enjoyable so far, having access to the entire Adobe Suite, as well as having practical, hands-on work was crucial in deciding my future career. My favourite module so far has been the Branding module during my second year, where we had the opportunity to delve into visual identities within graphic design!
Have you been involved in any projects or extracurricular activities that have supplemented your studies run through NTU?
When producing a documentary, I had collaborated with a band, leading to doing further projects with them! This kick-started my freelancing career, where I now provide graphics for external clients. It has also opened many doors into the creative industry, broadening my skills and finding my niche. It has provided me with insight into the commercial and business aspects surrounding my passion. In addition to this, the Work Experience module furthered my professional identity on social media, which you can see here!

Settling into university was relatively easy, with introductory events and activities to partake in. I have made life-long friends at university, that I couldn’t imagine living without now!
The Next Steps…
What’s next for you after NTU?
When I graduate, I hope to take NTU’s MA Graphics Communications degree to specialise and further my expertise in graphics. Additionally, following the success of my freelance work, I am in the process of launching a creative agency, alongside university peers, that provides media services to emerging artists and musicians.
