What were your motivations for studying a professional course?

"I had reached a point in my career where I felt the need to underpin some of my experiences with evidence, learning and a broader understanding. I knew this would support my further progressions but also the development of my team and wider organisation."

Why did you choose NTU and Nottingham Business School?

"As an organisation the East Midlands Ambulance Service have strong Links with NTU and it felt natural to continue these ties with my MBA."

What have you enjoyed most about your course?

"Learning and developing has been made enjoyable due to the delivery model. Don’t get me wrong the work is hard and challenging at the best of times, but the course faculty and leaders has made it truly enjoyable.

They have also been immensely supportive through the ongoing challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic."

How do you feel your course has benefitted your work in your current role?

"It has allowed me to look differently at situations and consider other/alternative options to those typically seen. It has also furthered my understanding in meetings, such as where the Director of Finance was discussing financial accounting during an exec meeting, I was able to follow and understand the conversation where previously would have been lost."

What knowledge and skills have you gained for your professional career?

"I have a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge, these range from being a registered Paramedic, to an advanced emergency driving instructor. More recently I have focused in on Operational leadership and strategic change and transformation."

How do you feel this course has enhanced your employment prospects?

"Understanding more of what’s happening and why allows me to be more involved in the moment. Being engaged provides much richer experiences and as such furthers my knowledge and experience.

This not only strengthens reputations but also provides a richer contents when meeting prospective employers."

"Supportive, knowledgeable and easy to work with."
