Why did you choose NTU and Nottingham Law School?

My decision to study at NTU and Nottingham Law School was hinged on a couple of reasons.

NTU offered the specific course I was interested in, "technology law,". It's been awesome diving into that.

A friend from my undergraduate days went to NTU last year. She's quite the genius, so if she liked it, I figured I would too. Just seemed like the right vibe for my postgraduate adventure.

Lastly, I have always loved the idea of Nottingham and Robin Hood.

Why did you choose postgraduate study at NTU?

Honestly, I decided to do my postgraduate studies at NTU because it just felt right. NTU is all about innovation and cutting-edge research, and they have amazing courses, which is right up my alley.

The vibe at NTU is awesome and collaborative, and this is evident on NTU’s social media platforms. You can literally see the innovation, creativity and commitment to making a change. That's exactly what I wanted.

Plus, NTU is indeed global, and offers chances to connect in the global industry. Being part of a diverse and forward-thinking academic crew at NTU seemed like the perfect fit for my postgraduate journey.

What inspired you to study law?

I have always loved the idea of Law, to be honest. It was a little confusing in the beginning, but it became really exciting when I found my niche. I love Tech, Artificial Intelligence (and all that exciting stuff) really well, and the idea that the law converges with it is interesting.

What do you enjoy about your course?

I love the fact that my course forces to me think, read, and gain a wider view of the way the world works in terms of regulatory compliance and business realities.

I am usually excited to attend my classes. Particularly, I look forward to my Intellectual Property classes under Peter Vaughan (You should meet him!). The lecturer is one of a kind, and he blows my mind every time.

I also love the fact that the lecturers are supportive and are more than happy to offer guidance and answer questions.

What marks out of 10 would you give for course facilities and why?

Regarding course facilities, I’ll award a 9. There’s literally all you need to succeed as a student. The support system here is strong and the environment is also relaxed. This balance puts my head in a pretty clear space.

How would you promote NTU to potential students in 10 words or fewer?

NTU is vibrant and offers support and endless possibilities.

What three words would you use to describe Nottingham?

Lively, historic, charming

Where would you recommend visiting in Nottingham?

Well, I love board games a lot so I’ll recommend the Dice Cup and Leadbelt. If you’re looking for some historic vibes, you should see the City of Caves.

If you have a (non-academic) problem who would you talk to? What would you do?

If I have a non-academic problem, I’ll talk to either the student support team or my friends.

What do you think Nottingham Law School has given you above and beyond a qualification?

Nottingham Law School has taught me how to be self-reliant and healthily dependent at the same time. My lecturers inspire me to think critically and get informed views. I also have access to a very wide network of people.

Finally, is there anything else you’d like to share?

I know settling in might be seemingly overwhelming at the beginning, but when you give it time, you’ll see how easy life could be.

I’ll recommend intentionally meeting new people through joining NTU societies or a group.
