What inspired you to choose your course?

"I love sports – they are my passion. I also like being hands-on and practical with my learning, which is how I take on board information in the best way. It is an interesting course with great potential after graduation to get a job in sports."

What made you choose this subject area?

"I would like to get a job within a sports team or club after graduation. With this course, I will become more employable and hopefully stand out more."

How is this course helping you achieve your personal or career goals?

"It’s getting me a step closer as many professional clubs and teams ask for a degree, as well as coaching experience and having the right qualifications.

The course also provides great connections with employers, which is a real benefit after graduation."

What attracted you to study at the Mansfield Hub?

"The interactions you have with your peers and course leaders are more personal, as there are much smaller groups of people. Also, for me, it’s about location. The hub is a 5-minute drive, so it’s easy to access."

What do you hope to gain or achieve by being part of the NTU Mansfield community?

"Graduation from NTU. Also, I will have gained better connections with my peers and course leaders."

What makes the Mansfield Hub different from other study locations or campuses?

"It’s much more personal, as we have tutors we can go to, as well as the course leaders.

I always feel supported with my assignments and any questions I have, as all our course leaders are personable.

It is a close-knit community within Mansfield as you make connections with not only your year but also other years as well."

Can you tell us about any positive experiences at NTU Mansfield?

"My course is very hands-on. The lab practicals are fun and interactive. This is really to help us understand the testing process that goes into the research that we will do in third year, as well as the papers we read.

The library is a great resource as well. Lots of informative books and information in there, as well as the staff who are ready to help."

What’s the best thing about being an NTU Mansfield student?

"How connected to you feel to everyone, including students and lecturers."

Why did you choose to apply to NTU Mansfield through Clearing?

"It’s a great university on my doorstep with great course options."

How did you secure a place on your course through Clearing?

"On the phone. I called and, within 15 minutes of telling them my A-level grades, I was accepted onto the course and had emails about the start date and introductory classes."

What advice would you give to anyone applying through Clearing?

"Just give them a call! They have a great response team and are informative."
