What to expect at an NTU open day
Researching universities can be tough, especially as opportunities to visit them have been limited. The 'right choice' criteria can range from the reputation for a particular subject, to industry connections and the location of the University itself. You will also be looking for something special – an experience that adds genuine value beyond the rudiments of a degree course.
There's nothing like seeing something for yourself, especially with a life-changing decision like going to university. With so many factors affecting your choice, visiting in person could completely change your mind.
Our open days and events are a great opportunity to:
- see our range of accommodation and make a list of your favourite options
- visit the city and see why Nottingham has earned its reputation as one of the great student destinations
- see the spaces where you'll study and socialise
- meet the teaching and support staff who will help shape your future
- have your questions answered
- see how long it would take you to visit home.
How to make the most of your open day
Plan your journey
We’ve got campuses across Nottinghamshire, each uniquely developed to the needs of our student community. You'll be visiting the campus where your course of interest is based and you'll find travel instructions for all of our campuses and sites below.
If you’re planning to spend the night in Nottingham, information on places to stay is available at Visit Nottinghamshire.
Get to know your course
A subject talk programme will be confirmed before your event and you'll be able to see your subject facilities on the day.
We recommend that you prioritise your day around your subject talk, but if you miss a talk or you’re interested in more than one course, speak to our academic staff who will be available at subject stands.
Take a self-guided tour
Explore our outstanding campuses and facilities through a self-guided tour. Each tour takes around 45 minutes – 1 hour. You’ll also find out more about Nottingham, a fantastic city to live and study in.
Find your new home
Each of our campuses has its own residences, with accommodation to suit all budgets and preferences. Take a look and see which one is right for you.
Chat to our staff and current students
Our inspiring staff and current students will also be available to answer your questions and give you a real sense of what it's like to study at NTU – ask anything and everything you want to know!
If you have any questions before your visit, current students and staff are available on our online chat.
