Discounted travel offers are available to all NTU undergraduate open day visitors – whether you’re travelling by car, coach, rail, or tram.

Discounted car parking

Save 45% on standard car parking rates at Q-Park Talbot Street (Stanley Place, Nottingham NG1 5GG).

Follow these steps to access the discount:

  1. Press for a ticket upon entry. Do not use contactless payment on entry.
  2. Bring your ticket to the City Campus Information Hub in the Newton building and collect a voucher.
  3. Activate the discount at the pay station before you exit.

The discount is available across any length of stay.

25% off train travel

Travel to our open day with East Midlands Railway and save up to 25% off your rail fare. The discount is valid on open single tickets, open return tickets, super off-peak, off-peak, and anytime tickets.

Discount is not valid on advanced tickets and tickets must be booked over the phone or via email by 1 pm on the day before travel.

To purchase discounted tickets, call +44(0) 3457 125678 (Mon – Fri, 9 am – 4.30 pm), select option 2 and option 2 again and quote ‘Nottingham Trent University 2023', or book by emailing group.travel@eastmidlandsrailway.co.uk.

Your onward journey

You’ll arrive at Nottingham Train Station and can continue your journey to each of our campuses:

Nottingham Train Station is a 20-minute walk to our City Campus (Newton building) and you can also catch the Nottingham City Transport (NCT) number 1 bus from the S6 bus stop outside the station on Carrington Street for free by showing a copy of your NTU open day booking confirmation. Ride two stops to the B2 bus stop on Beastmarket Hill and it's an eight-minute walk to City Campus (Newton building).

You can also take a tram heading for Phoenix Park or Hucknall from the tram stop at the station. Make sure you buy a ticket before you board the tram to avoid penalty fares and get off at the Nottingham Trent University stop (four stops from Nottingham Station).

Onward journey time: approximately 11 minutes.

Catch the Nottingham City Transport (NCT) number 1 bus from the S2 bus stop outside the station on Carrington Street, which will drop you opposite our Clifton Campus. Show a copy of your NTU open day booking confirmation to travel on the bus for free.

Onward journey time: approximately 24 minutes.

Catch the Nottingham City Transport (NCT) Pathfinder 26 bus from the K1 bus stop on King Street, just off Old Market Square. A single journey is currently £2 per person and full fares can be found on the NCT website.

Onward journey time: approximately 1 hour.

Broad Marsh Bus Station is a 20-minute walk to our City Campus (Newton building) and you can also catch the Nottingham City Transport (NCT) number 1 bus from the S6 bus stop outside Nottingham Train Station on Carrington Street for free by showing a copy of your NTU open day booking confirmation. Catch the Nottingham City Transport (NCT) Pathfinder 26 bus from the K1 bus stop on King Street, just off Old Market Square. A single journey is currently £2 per person and full fares can be found on the NCT website.

Discounted tram travel (City Campus)

Use the city’s Park & Ride service and continue your journey to NTU by tram. Park at one of the following sites and board any tram serving the Toton Lane or the Clifton South line:

  • The Forest (NG7 6AQ) – journey time to Nottingham Trent University stop: approx. 5 minutes
  • Wilkinson Street (NG7 7NW) – journey time to the Nottingham Trent University stop: approx. 10 minutes
  • Phoenix Park (NG8 6AS) – journey time to the Nottingham Trent University stop: approx. 20 minutes.

Purchase an £8 family tram ticket, which is valid for one or two adults and up to three children travelling on the day. Make sure you buy a ticket before you board the tram to avoid penalty fares.
