I have lived on Brackenhurst campus throughout my three years studying at NTU, I have experienced, both the low end and the high end Accomodation’s offered, the high end accommodation was my preference overall as it offered full sized bathrooms, with a proper shower not just a wet room with a shower curtain more like a cupboard this was my main takeaway of the lower end of the accommodation, I have seen one other rooms type available with double beds these rooms have the same tiny showers space (bathrooms) but these rooms had less storage compared to the room I had with a single bed , the rooms also do not have hooks anywhere for hanging up coats and the cork boards are by the doors and not next to the table/desk so they are completely pointless. The higher end room includes a small double beds these rooms with modern style storage , proper shower and a great amount of storage , these rooms are very well thought out, and the shared kitchen space is very good too
The facilities are good, but some maintenence requests don't geg reviewed for a while.
Overall good accommodation and the price isn’t too much. Cleaners clean once a week, and empty bins monday-friday, you can easily report maintenance issues and they are usually quite fast with sorting them out. Accommodation is on campus so is easy to get to lectures, about a 30 min drive/45 ish min bus ride into city though. Main shop nearby is coop which isn’t great, would be nice to have a big superstore like tesco closer, but the closest is around 20 mins drive away. Has a leisure centre/gym a 10 min walk from campus
Brackenhurst Campus, part of Nottingham Trent University, offers a stunning rural setting ideal for students studying animal, environmental, and agricultural sciences. The campus provides hands-on learning with excellent facilities. The pros are that is is a beautiful piece of land, with many views, and that it is a very tight- knit community due to being an isolated part of the university. The transport and nightlife can be limited so preparation is key. Overall, Brackenhurst is perfect for students who love nature, hands-on learning, and a close community—but it may feel a bit isolated for those seeking a busy city lifestyle.
Been living on brackenhurst for a year and a half, loved the sense of community and generally is an amazibg experience, accommodation team can sometimes downplay issues that you give them and wifi can be a bit on and off at times but usually is adressed and resolved quickly
Such a great campus. Can make so many friends here. Nice walk into southwell. Bus routes very accessible
Modern style kitchen, ensuite is a lifesaver and comfy bed
Really good accommodation, very nice rooms, good kitchen facilities as well
Daily kitchen communal bins Are emptied and once a week we have a cleaner which I'm really grateful for, Rooms are really clean and spacious with lots of storage and Wi-Fi is easy to access and the staff are helpful to help connect you. Maintenance enquiries are dealt with quickly and chairs and mattresses can be replaced if they're old.
The accommodation is great, it has everything you need while staying at uni.
Love this campus, just far from the city centre.
I live in a premium suite and the bed is great as it has storage underneath to hide away all extra bits and bobs you don’t need out. The shower is spacious and the bathroom is sleek looking and spaces to put your products and necessities. The desk is great with lots of storage around it to keep your pens, notebooks and things. The kitchen has all your needs including fridge and freezers, cupboards and drawers for everyone and sofas to spend time with friends. The cleaner comes every morning to take out and change the bins and once a week to clean it properly.
The rural living area is an absolutely amazing space to live. It feels so fresh and the views are absolutely amazing. The flats are cleaned once a week and they are cleaned absolutely amazingly!
Short walk to the lectures. Lovely for evening walks in the countryside.
The location of brackenhurst can be challenging if you don't have a car. There are not supermarkets or shops near so you have to get a food shop delivered
Great facilities and accomodation, not near any large supermarkets which can be a problem
bedroom size is quite small but has a full shower which I love! and a double bed is great. no real complaints!
