Sensory and wellbeing spaces

Our sensory and wellbeing spaces offer a calm and inclusive environment to support focus, relaxation and sensory regulation. They have been designed with neurodivergent students in mind, but are open to anyone who would benefit from a peaceful retreat from the hustle of campus life.

Creating more inclusive spaces in our libraries to meet the diverse needs of our users and support them to thrive.

With soothing lighting, comfortable seating, and a range of sensory tools, the sensory rooms are here to help you recharge, refocus, and feel at ease, whether you need a moment of quiet or a break from sensory overload.

The Rest Nest is our new wellbeing room, offering a space to quietly unwind and recharge away from studies. Here you'll find comfortable seating and adjustable lighting, with decoration and accessories to help you relax. There’s also a dedicated corner to learn about crafting, as well as a book swap.
