What is the NTU Chamber Choir?

The choir is an auditioned ensemble of around 25 singers, open to students, staff and alumni of the University.

Why should I join?

As well as having the opportunity to perform in prestigious performances throughout the year, you’ll develop your singing, meet new friends, and have the chance to travel internationally.

Through concerts and competitions, you’ll get to sing a variety of music in some of the most extraordinary venues and acoustics, often accompanied by professional musicians.

You can experience new countries and cultures through the Chamber Choir’s annual international tour. From the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona to the British Council in New Delhi, the choir has performed to audiences in incredible locations, with a visit to China planned for April 2019.

You’ll be joining award-winning choir; the Chamber Choir won an impressive silver medal at the 2018 South African World Choir Games, and were the only choir to represent Great Britain.

What does the audition involve?

Auditions will take place at the Music Centre on City Campus, with Matthew Hopkins, NTU’s Director of Music. They will last around 10 minutes.

During the audition you will sing a song of your choice and perform a short piece of sight-reading.
