With Christmas drawing closer, it is time for the final instalment of our Employability Spotlight series. Despite what can only be characterised as an unpredictable year, the team have remained resilient and ensured the service delivered to students and stakeholders alike did not waiver.

Spotlight - FDM Group

Kristy Littlewood, University Partnerships Team Lead (South), 2021

"Working in partnership with NTU is thoroughly enjoyable, both alongside the careers team to see how we can best support and engage with students/graduates and speaking with the students themselves!"

"We have explored with NTU careers staff innovative ways to prepare students for the commercial world via digital up-skilling sessions, employability skills including mock assessment centres and confidence building, as well as inspiring students from different degree backgrounds to consider a career in technology. The Degree Showcases are a particular highlight, as it is fantastic to see the projects students have been working on and their creative ideas. NTU have always been accommodating and supportive in providing a platform to enable students to discover the opportunities at FDM and I am looking forward to continuing to engage with NTU students further."

Spotlight - Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Nottinghamshire Healthcare provides integrated healthcare services, including mental health, intellectual disability and physical health services. Over 9000 dedicated staff provide these services in a variety of settings, ranging from the community through to acute wards, as well as secure settings. The Trust manages two medium secure units, Arnold Lodge in Leicester and Wathwood Hospital in Rotherham, and the high secure Rampton Hospital near Retford.

Reflecting on his experience hosting a postgraduate placement student, Jeff Day explained:

“The student has been very hard working, responsible and an asset to both teams they were placed with. There’s been a lot of good positive feedback for them.

We were pleased to source a student who had good skills with the ability to learn new things in a timely manner.

NTU's employability team provided us with adequate support to ensure the process was smooth with all relevant information provided, we were very thankful for this and look forward to working with them again.

(Jeff Day, 2021)

Until next year...
