My alumni story: Wezi Munkhondya

"I am Wezi Munkhondya from Malawi. In September 2019, I started my MSc in Management and Global Supply Chain Management postgraduate course at NTU. I received a 50% Scholarship on my tuition fees. I'm proud to say I passed with a distinction a year later.

"When my student visa was about to expire, I returned back home in January 2021. In the same year, I was able to get a job with one of the NGO's in Malawi. I later found another job with an international NGO in August 2022 as a procurement expert on a fiscal agent basis, in which I was overseeing the procurement of the Malawi Ministry of Health under the Global Fund and Global Vaccine Alliance (GAVI) projects.

"In December 2022, I started looking for jobs in the UK and applied for a role at the NHS Highlands. I was successful and given a five-year visa sponsorship as a skilled worker. I remember the interviewers asking me about my studies and time in Nottingham and it was really an interesting thing talking about my positive experiences at NTU.

"Fast forward to September, and I have reported for duty at the NHS Highlands in Scotland and based in Inverness.
I always like to think that my Masters degree from NTU has helped me secure these three good jobs in the last three years.

"Now I’m back in the UK, I’m hoping to attend my graduation that I missed in 2020!"
