Submit your entry for WRAP's Creative Writing Competition – The Awe of Sport

Submissions are now open to students and staff for the latest WRAP Creative Writing Competition. Take part in 'The Awe of Sport' for a chance to be published in the next WRAP anthology.

A football on a football pitch.

Following the success of WRAP's (Writing, Reading and Pleasure) 2023 anthology, Notes to Self, we're giving NTU students and staff another opportunity to become published writers and see their words in print.

Inspired by WRAP Featured Writer Ashley Hickson-Lovence's book Your Show, based on the life and career of former Black football referee Uriah Rennie, we're asking you to write about something sport-related.

What does it feel like to score a goal, or to be part of a team, sometimes winning, sometimes losing? Perhaps you’re an individual athlete, using your determination to improve, or you play a sport that's seen as less difficult or valued than others. Whether you’re a team player or a solo performer, we’re looking for your experiences of any kind of training or participation in all kinds of sport for our new creative writing anthology, The Awe of Sport.

Tell us how it feels to be a woman footballer, a para long-distance runner, or an LGBTQ sportsperson when you're in the zone.

We want to hear from students and staff about their experiences, in up to 400 words of writing, or 20 lines of poetry.
