Molly Reek winning Junior Lawyer of the Year

Nottingham Law School is proud to celebrate alumna Molly Reek, who was named Junior Lawyer of the Year at the Nottinghamshire Law Society Annual Awards. The accolade recognises Molly’s exceptional contribution to the legal profession, as well as her compassionate and client-centred approach to practice.

After completing the LLM Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School, Molly undertook her training contract at Latham & Co Solicitors before qualifying as a solicitor in 2022. She now works as a Private Client Solicitor at Buckles Law, advising clients on wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney and estate administration.

Molly shares:

“I’m incredibly honoured (and honestly still quite shocked!) to have received the Junior Lawyer of the Year award from Nottinghamshire Law Society. To be recognised within such a talented and supportive legal community means a great deal to me, particularly so early in my career.

I’m very grateful for the continued support from Nottingham Trent University, which has played such an important role in my journey into the profession, supporting me through my Legal Practice Course.

I’ve especially recently enjoyed being involved in NTU’s mentor scheme and creating video content for the NLS Careers Hub, supporting and inspiring the next generation of law students by giving them a real insight into what a career in law can look like. It’s a privilege to be able to give something back to a community that has supported me so much.”

Molly’s career has been shaped not only by academic and professional achievement, but also by remarkable resilience and empathy. Her work in private client law often supports individuals and families during some of the most difficult periods of their lives, and she is recognised for combining technical expertise with genuine compassion.

Alongside her legal career, Molly has also dedicated significant time to charitable fundraising in memory of her younger sister, helping to raise more than £60,000 for hospice and end-of-life care services. Her commitment to supporting others both professionally and personally reflects the values celebrated by this award.

Her achievement is a testament to the impact Nottingham Law School graduates continue to make across the legal profession, and we congratulate Molly on this well-deserved recognition.
