Sustainability team
The Sustainability team sit within the Estates department and drive performance on Net Zero Carbon (NZC) and on environmental compliance across NTU operations, contributing to the delivery of NTU’s Embracing Sustainability strategy.
The team do so by focusing on 5 key areas of delivery: sustainability strategy and leadership, NZC, environmental management, engagement and communication, and ecology and biodiversity. They educate, empower and enable stakeholders across the NTU community to deliver positive sustainability outcomes in their own roles and settings. The team also champion and share what sustainability best practice looks like internally and externally.

Sustainability in the curriculum
Since 2024, all NTU courses have embedded the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UNESCO sustainability competencies within course design and assessment. This initiative is supported by the Centre for Academic Development and Quality (CADQ).
