Sustainability in the Curriculum
NTU is a sector leader in sustainability. We’ve been recognised as one of the greenest universities in the UK for the past eight years, most recently being awarded third place in the 2019 People & Planet University League.
Our research explores low carbon technologies, sustainable consumption, green mobility and sustainability policies, in order to improve performance and energy efficiency.

Net Zero Carbon
NTU has pledged to achieve Net Zero Carbon emissions across all three carbon scopes by 2040 in order to create a Zero Carbon culture across the NTU community.

Primary school pupils grow their passion for plants at NTU
NTU PhD student Xanthea Heynes has been using her research expertise in sustainable agriculture to teach and enlighten eco warriors from a local Nottinghamshire primary school on their recent visit to NTU's Brackenhurst Campus and the glasshouse and vertical farming facilities.
