ISO 14001

We're proud to have been one of the first universities to hold the internationally recognised ISO 14001 certification since 2012, which recognises the hard work of stakeholders across NTU, helping to ensure our environmental management is amongst the strongest in the UK Higher Education sector. The certification helps us develop our Environmental Policy and projects across the university to embed sustainability within operations, teaching and research.

Net Zero Carbon

NTU has pledged to achieve Net Zero Carbon emissions across all three carbon scopes by 2040 in order to create a Zero Carbon culture across the NTU community.

Travel and Transport

NTU is fortunate to be located in a city that has an excellent public transport network. In addition to the city's own facilities, we've significantly invested in facilities for cyclists and those who choose to walk or run to the University.

Waste and Recycling

At NTU, we are dedicated to managing waste and resources responsibly and sustainably. By working collaboratively, we aim to create a cleaner, greener environment across our campuses.

Biodiversity and Green Spaces

NTU's estate comprises over 260 hectares of land ranging from urban city centre to farmland. We are working hard to conserve and enhance NTU's biodiversity.
