Meeting the highest standards in terms of sustainability, our campuses feature buildings at the cutting-edge of technology, all creating an environment that's as welcoming as it is inspiring. Since 2000, we've invested over £570 million in our tools, technology, buildings and facilities, we’ve revamped historic buildings and built state-of-the-art new facilities.
Our Environmental Policy ensures we consider the short, medium and long term impacts of all construction projects; considering climate risk and resilience, optimal building use, energy efficiency, responsible procurement and minimising waste.

City Campus Projects
Our base for enterprise activities and industry partnerships achieves BREEAM Excellent standards and care has been taken to protect all on-site trees.
A beautiful refurbishment and efficiency upgrade, coupled to a stunning new extension with NTU’s first living wall.
Our student union building is complete with energy saving features, roof gardens and NTU’s cycle workshop.
NTU’s International hub and Global Lounge has been designed to BREEAM Excellent and EPC A Standards.
Our flagship building has many energy efficient features, a falcon nest and a 3000m2 living sedum roof.
This Grade II listed former Registry Office has been upgraded by NTU from an energy rating of F to B, featuring biomass heating.

Clifton Campus Projects
The home for medical training at Clifton meets BREEAM Excellent and EPC A standards.

The first of the new STEM buildings at Clifton was built to BREEAM Excellent and features research beehives.
Our first EPC A+ building was designed using Passivhaus principles, maximising solar gain, thermal mass and airtightness.
This new classroom hub achieves BREEAM excellent, and allows NTU to save energy out of term.
This laboratory refurbishment incorporates sustainable construction features including enhanced insulation, high-performance glazing, motion-sensor lighting, and energy-efficient building services.
Brackenhurst Campus Projects
Our new accommodation features an extensive wildflower planting scheme for pollinators with 9 ‘insect holes’.
This was NTU’s first BREEAM Excellent and EPC A building, with rooftop PV and smart passive ventilation.
