Sustainability in Enterprise - Murphy & Son

Following a consultancy with NTU's Sustainability team, brewing equipment supplier, Murphy & Son, received a baseline carbon footprint calculation and recommendations that would save an estimated 216 tonnes of CO2e (carbon dioxide equivalent), or 65% of their overall footprint, from their operations and a financial saving of around £24,000 per year.

Sustainability in Enterprise - White Rose

Sustainable fashion retailer, White Rose, worked with one of NTU's Sustainability Consultants to create their first ever carbon footprint and understand their carbon impact. The recommendations that White Rose has already committed to will see the business cut its carbon footprint by 69%, equating to £9,947.89 in productivity savings.

Sustainability in Enterprise - TTK Confectionery

Following a Product Design Consultancy with NTU's Design Matter group, The Treat Kitchen was presented with redesign suggestions for their best-selling message bottle, which would see potential carbon savings of up to 50% and reduce the weight of the original bottle by over 45%. TTK also received 29 carbon reduction recommendations from NTU's Sustainability Consultants and went on to set up a green team to work through and implement these.

Sustainability in Enterprise - Cockburn Lucas

Following a consultancy with NTU's Sustainability team, green financial advisors, Cockburn Lucas, received their first ever baseline carbon footprint, along with 31 recommendations for reducing operational carbon emissions and improving environmental performance that would see carbon savings of 20.61%.

Sustainability in Enterprise - Night Time Economy Solutions Ltd

Global Leader in Night Time Economy Management, Night Time Economy Solutions, received funding through the SiE graduate talent grant, which paid 20% towards a new employee's salary for 12 months. They received further support from the SCL - comprised of six half-day workshops over eight weeks to help participants become sustainability champions in their enterprise.

Sustainability in Enterprise - 2bm

Data centre architects, 2bm, participated in NTU’s Carbon Management Programme, delivered by NBS academics specialising in sustainability and carbon management. The programme offered four practical and interactive 3-hour workshops and helped 2bm build in-house capacity to create their own carbon footprint calculations and a carbon management action plan for the future.

Sustainability in Enterprise - CADXtra

Multi-disciplined design consultancy, CADXtra, received funding through a graduate talent grant to hire a Junior Design and Projects Engineer to take the lead on putting the company through its ISO 14001 assessment, as well as helping map their carbon footprint and researching ways of improving the overall sustainability of the business. The new employee was supported to do this through the Sustainability Community Lab.

Sustainability in Enterprise - LeftLion

LeftLion staff undertook the Carbon Management Programme, which provided a foundation to help them measure and reduce their carbon emissions. LeftLion also took part in a student consultancy project with NBS, which tasked final-year students with calculating the carbon footprint for three aspects of business operations and putting forward a set of recommendations to save costs and reduce carbon.
