Important information - please read carefully.

You must complete an interview with NTU International team staff as part of your application process. Read our advice carefully. Once you have read the advice find the booking link on the page below.

Please ensure you attend your interview to avoid your application to NTU being withdrawn. If you can no longer attend your booked interview, ensure that you cancel or re-arrange, otherwise your NTU application will be rejected.

Please note that the calendar is on UK time zone.  If you’re in a different time zone, convert to your local time.

You can use the NTU website to research your course, modules, placement options, facilities and all opportunities within NTU. You should also use reputable third party comparison sites for universities, such as UKCISA.
  • Please ensure that you are available for your interview. Failure to attend will result in your application being rejected.
  • Please note that the calendar is on UK time zone.  If you’re in a different time zone, convert to your local time.
  • Please save the following email address into your contacts so you do not miss any important information.
  • Please only book one appointment. If you book more than one appointment and fail to attend one of the appointments your application to NTU will be rejected.
  • Please download the calendar invite from the booking so this is in your calendar with your correct time zone.

  • Please outline any accessibility requirements you may have (for example needing a longer interview slot). We aim to make our interviews accessible to everyone. Whilst we will always do our best to meet individual support needs, we may need at least four weeks notice to arrange external support, such as BSL interpreters.
  • Review all the information below so you are best prepared for your interview.

Due to the high volume of interview requests, we can now only allow 1 attempt to interview. Please ensure you attend your interview to avoid your application to NTU being rejected.

How to prepare for your interview

Follow our advice carefully so you are best prepared to be successful in your interview.

  • Book your interview using this link.
  • Make sure to pick a time you will be free, and available to talk for 15-20 minutes.
  • You can book up to 2 months in advance - we recommend you book now and give yourself time to prepare.
  • Interview slot availability during July to September will be limited due to the popularity of NTU, and students confirming their place on the course. To avoid disappointment, book now.
  • We may put in place deadlines for students to meet their conditions by. You must ensure you book an interview before any deadline.
  • Book your interview, and receive the outcome, before you make your advance payment.
  • Start your research – you will not be allowed notes or to use our website during the interview, so you will need to be well prepared for your interview.

  • Applicants will only have 1 interview opportunity. If you fail your interview, we will not be able to reconsider any further interviews.
  • We will remind you of your interview 24 hours before your appointment. If you need to reschedule, you can do so through your original confirmation email.
  • Please make sure your passport is uploaded before your interview. For Indian applicants this includes address page 34. For Pakistan applicants this includes place of birth on page 2.
  • You will need to make sure you are in a quiet room, alone, with no or little background noise.
  • Make sure no one else is in the room with you.
  • Make sure you have a good internet connection.
  • Where possible, we advise that you conduct the interview from a Laptop.  Avoid touching your laptop during the interview. We will ask you to switch your phone off within your interview.
  • If you are using a phone for your interview, you will be asked to put this on a flat surface and not touch your phone during the interview.
  • Make sure to start your interview on time. If you are late, we cannot guarantee we will be able to complete your interview within your time slot, and you may need to reschedule.
  • If you have any connectivity issues, we only allow 1 interview attempt. If you do not attend your interview, you will fail the interview, and your application will be rejected.
  • The team may ask you to complete certain actions throughout the interview, to ensure you are not using any AI tools.

Your interview will last approximately 15 minutes.

1. To begin, we will need to verify your identity, so please have your photo identification ready, such as your passport.

2. Once you have passed the identity checks, we will start recording the interview.

3. The team will read our AI statement, and ask you to complete certain actions, and agree to this statement.

4. You will then be asked a series of questions. The questions will be different for every interview, but will cover topics such as :

  • Why you have chosen to study in the UK?
  • Why you have chosen to study your course at NTU?
  • What research you have done about NTU and your course?
  • How you plan to fund your study in the UK?
  • What your plans are for your future after graduating from this course?

Successful candidates will need to provide detailed, authentic, well-researched answers. You should be able to provide specific knowledge of your course, modules, course team, and why you chose this course.

During the interview you should not read from any webpages or notes. The use of AI tools within the interview is forbidden. You will need to demonstrate knowledge of NTU, and Nottingham, and clearly explain why you chose NTU over other UK universities. You will need to clearly show you are prepared to fund your studies and life in the UK.

5. Then, it is your time to ask any questions before we conclude the interview. It's an opportunity for you to ask more about NTU and studying here.

6. After your interview, the Admissions team will review the recording, and the result of your interview will be updated on your application portal within 10 working days.

  • Check your applicant portal for the update of your condition.
  • Once this has been marked as satisfied, this means you have passed your interview and can proceed with meeting the remainder of your offer conditions.
  • You will still need to prepare for your UKVI visa interview. A successful NTU interview does not guarantee a successful UKVI visa application.
