What are the entry requirements for students from Taiwan?
The entry requirements for Bachelors and Masters degrees at NTU for Taiwanese students are listed below. Select your qualification from the list to see what you need to join a course at the University.
Please note that these entry requirements are guidelines only. If you have questions about your qualification and it is not listed here, please contact us.
Applicants that have completed the Taiwan Senior High School Diploma (3 years) with an overall average of 70% or more can be considered for entry to Year 1 of portfolio-based courses in:
- Nottingham School of Art & Design
- School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment
For Year 1 entry to all other NTU Bachelors degrees, applicants with at least one year of post-High School study and/or the GSAT can be considered.
Applicants that do not meet this criteria may be eligible for Foundation and International Year One courses at Nottingham Trent International College (NTIC).
Grades of 70% or above can be considered for advanced entry to Bachelors degrees or Pre-Masters courses at NTIC.
Can study Postgraduate (Masters) courses with the below:
- Grades of 75% (2.1) or 70% (2.2)
Can study Postgraduate (Masters) courses with the below:
- Grades of 75% (2.1) or 70% (2.2) or
- Grades of 65%-70% from prestigious universities
Can study Postgraduate research with the below:
- Grades of 70% or above
The following GSAT scores can be considered for entry to Year 1 of NTU’s Bachelors degrees:
- GSAT completed post-2019 - A score of 40 out of 60 from 4 subjects
- GSAT completed pre-2019 – A score of 48 out of 75 from 5 subjects
Applicants should also have completed or be scheduled to complete the Taiwan Senior High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification.
For NTU courses that require an A Level in a specific subject, applicants may be asked to obtain a specific score in a GSAT subject, or an additional qualification in that subject.
You’ll need an IELTS qualification at the appropriate grade or an alternative English language qualification accepted by the University.
Students who do not meet the English language requirements may be required to take a pre-sessional English language (PEAP) course.
Taiwan Scholarship
Do you have an offer to study with us? Why not apply for our exclusive Taiwan scholarship. Both undergraduate (first year only) and postgraduate students can apply for £5,000 towards your studies.
We also offer a variety of other scholarships ranging from £2,000 to 50% of your tuition fee. Once you submit an application form we’ll assess you for all scholarships you are eligible for.
Taiwan STEM Scholarship
We are pleased to offer one competitive scholarship up to a value of half your tuition fee.
We welcome applications from students from Taiwan who are holding an offer to study on a Science and Technology course. It is open to both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
The scholarship will be awarded to the candidate who most closely meets the criteria for the award.
