What is a homestay and who is it suitable for?
If you’re looking for short-term accommodation, you may be interested in our Homestay option. We’ll place you with a host family where you’ll have your own room and access to other facilities in the house.
If you choose to live in Homestay accommodation, catering will be provided, and you’ll agree the length of stay before you move in. A short termination period of just one week means you won’t be tied into a lengthy contract. This makes Homestay an excellent option for many ERASMUS students, Exchange students and students who might want the flexibility to change plans at short notice.
All properties are located between 20-30 minutes by bus from NTU’s City Campus. If you are studying at the Clifton Campus travel times might be longer.
How much does a homestay cost?
The cost of Homestay accommodation is £120 per week.
You’ll pay a £100 administration charge to NTU once you’ve been allocated a room.
As Homestay is a catered service the host family will provide you with breakfast and dinner seven days a week, and also with a lunch on a Saturday and Sunday.
