Overview
This comprises several projects funded by a mixture of research and consultancy funding from a variety of gambling industry operators (e.g., Entain, Norsk Tipping, Kindred). The IGRU’s research is driving major developments in responsible gaming (RG) tools and player protection policies which reduce the risk of problem gambling.
Professor Griffiths’ research has underpinned the development of RG tools used by international gambling operators, including Mentor, used by leading gambling operators and evaluated as helping clients gamble more responsibly. Griffiths' research has also underpinned the national and international development of player protection policies (including Entain, one of the world’s largest gambling operators), Kindred (one of the world’s largest online gambling operators) and Allwyn (who have been awarded the licence to run the National Lottery 2024-2034). Griffiths was appointed by Entain to lead on their player protection strategies and research initiatives.
