About NTU Equestrian
NTU Equestrian is a vibrant and welcoming club that caters to all levels of riders, from complete beginners to experienced competitors. We proudly have three BUCS teams that represent the university in national competitions, with five riders qualifying for Nationals this year—four at Trophy Nationals and one at Championship Nationals. Our competitive scene doesn’t stop there; we also have Horseball teams who regularly compete at the Open Championships, showcasing skill and teamwork in this fast-paced sport. For those not competing at BUCS level, we offer Development Teams that ride regularly and compete against other universities throughout the year. Our recreational riders enjoy tailored lessons at three levels—beginner, intermediate, and novice—making the sport accessible to everyone, no matter their experience. NTU Equestrian is more than just riding; it’s a supportive, fun, and passionate community, united by a shared love of horses and equestrian sport in all its forms.
Kacey Rice, Club President:
"I’ve loved every minute with NTU Equestrian—where I met amazing friends, shared my passion, and connected with likeminded people who love both the sport and the horses just as much"
Everything you need to know:
Our training sessions take place on Wednesdays at Trent Valley, which also hosts our home BUCS and Development competitions. BUCS and Development teams typically compete on Wednesdays or Fridays, with some away fixtures held at other universities. Our Horseball teams train separately at St Leonard’s and compete on Sundays, travelling to other universities' facilities for matches. This mix of regular training and both home and away competitions keeps our riders engaged, challenged, and always progressing.
