Role

Mandy Tamba is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for FdSc Veterinary Nursing. Mandy is also the Module Leader for Essential Veterinary Nursing Skills and Animal Husbandry.

Career overview

Mandy is a registered veterinary nurse who has spent several years working in small and large animal veterinary practices and equine practices, which gave her the opportunity to develop her veterinary nursing skills.

Mandy was a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader at Sparsholt College for FdSc Veterinary Nursing, FdSc Animal Management and FdSc Applied Behaviour, prior to joining Nottingham Trent University.

Research areas

An investigation into the browse selection of free-ranging giraffe (giraffa camelopardalis) in the Kruger National Park, South Africa.

External activity

Mandy maintains links with the veterinary profession by attending Veterinary Congress and undertaking clinical practice.

She has a keen interest in animal conservation, welfare, and animal behaviour, and completed her BSc (Hons) in Animal Management.

Mandy has worked as a volunteer in many countries and been actively involved in game reserve management and neutering projects, as well as working on a ranch in Wyoming.
