Role

As Course Leader Anthony is responsible for the management and health of the undergraduate courses offered by the subject group. This role includes regular liaison with both industry and professional institutions to ensure the courses are current and aligned with their expectations. Anthony also teaches across several courses where his areas of specialism are measurement, estimating and contractual practice.

Career overview

Prior to working at NTU, Anthony has worked as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in private practice as a consultant, and most recently for an East Midlands based building contractor. He has worked on various projects from refurbishment schemes to new build leisure complexes where his particular area of expertise was in the measurement and cost management of projects and also the management of the contractual arrangements of projects.

Research areas

Anthony is interested in all aspects of Quantity Surveying with a particular focus on measurement, estimating and contractual practice. He is also interested in innovation within the construction industry and has completed a PhD entitled “Development of a contextualised understanding of the diffusion of innovation among quantity surveyors in the UK construction industry”. This is an area that continues to be of relevance and fascination and forms the main focus of his research activities.
