Role
Amelia is a Senior Lecturer and Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Games Art programme at Nottingham Trent University.
With over seven years’ experience in higher education, she began her academic career at NTU in 2017 as a Level 3 BTEC Tutor and has since taught across undergraduate levels 4 to 6 in Games Art (formerly delivered at Confetti), as well as postgraduate level 7 on the MA and MSc Creative Technologies courses.
In her current role, Amelia provides academic leadership for the Games Art course, ensuring alignment with university and school policies. She is responsible for course quality, student satisfaction, progression, and retention, and works closely with academic, administrative, and technical teams to deliver high-quality learning experiences. She also liaises with internal and external stakeholders and leads on curriculum development and enhancement.
Amelia regularly collaborates with colleagues across the Nottingham School of Art and Design, student services, and professional services, and works with industry partners to deliver live briefs, portfolio reviews, and playtesting opportunities. She is particularly committed to improving accessibility in teaching and learning through the use of scaffolding techniques and innovative digital tools, and to building learner confidence by fostering safe creative and academic risk-taking. Alongside this, she ensures courses remain aligned with industry standards to support strong graduate outcomes and employability.
