Role

Diego Clavel Rivero is a Senior Technician within the Music and Events department at Nottingham School of Art & Design. He provides technical support across NTU's music facilities, primarily within Metronome, while also supporting activities and technical operations at Dryden Music Hall (DMH) and the Waverley Building when required. His role involves maintaining technical equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring students and staff have access to high-quality facilities and technical resources.

Career overview

Diego is an audio professional specialising in live sound engineering, as well as recording, mixing and mastering. Alongside his technical role at NTU, he has worked on a wide range of live events and productions across Nottingham.

His recent experience includes engineering at the New Currents Festival in 2026, supporting NTU Open Day events, and working at a variety of local venues including Pepper Rocks, The Old Cold Store and Rough Trade. He has also worked as an assisting engineer on numerous live music and performance events.

Diego holds a BA in Music Technology from Ireland and recently completed an MSc in Sound Engineering and Audio Production at Nottingham Trent University. His combination of industry and academic experience enables him to support students and staff across a broad range of music and audio production activities.
