Role

Ian Sillett is a multi-internationally award winning, songwriter, composer and professional musician and his role at NTU London is to inspire and teach his students on both of his courses. His philosophy is - ‘We do it, because we love it!’ Songwriting is about writing songs, not writing essays about writing songs and they have two amazing courses here at NTU London with a phenomenal team.

Career overview

Ian was Head of Songwriting at BIMM Brighton for 10 years and Tutor Leader and Course Leader at BIMM London for 9.5 years. He has mentored ex-students such as Tom Odell and James Bay, and remains very much connected to the music industry as a songwriter/composer and performing musician.

External activity

Ian is a panellist on BBC Introducing and the Brits Voting Academy. He also writes with artists and other songwriters of well renown in the industry.
