Role

Justine is a Principal Lecturer leading the teaching and learning for the BA (Hons) Fashion Management course. She specialises in fashion retail and management strategy, actively building on her wide industry knowledge.

Justine has a particular interest in the development of innovative learning experiences, and she was presented with the Vice-Chancellors Teaching Award, for her practice in this area.

Career overview

Prior to teaching at Nottingham Trent University Justine had extensive experience in retail as a Senior European Buyer across the global multi-channel fast fashion markets.

Research areas

Justine’s research concentrates on collaborative practices. She has jointly presented and published work at a number of prominent global conferences. In 2020 she was jointly awarded the IFFTI Senior Researcher Initiative Award for her work on interdisciplinary educational collaboration.

External activity

Justine is a founding member of the Association of Fashion Business Employability (AFBE), promoting industry and fashion business student networks.

As a fellow of the HEA (FHEA), Justine has 9 years’ experience as an External Examiner, consulting on pedagogical approaches. She is listed as a trained member in the External Examiners HEA directory.

She holds chartered (DipM MCIM) and participating member status of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM)
