Role

I am the Course Leader for the MSc Creative Technologies at Nottingham Trent University, leading the development and delivery of an interdisciplinary postgraduate course exploring creativity, emerging technologies and contemporary culture. My role combines curriculum design, teaching and student support to prepare graduates for rapidly evolving creative industries.

I design and deliver modules that integrate creative practice with technologies including artificial intelligence, immersive media, creative coding, physical computing and interactive systems. My teaching encourages students to critically examine the cultural, ethical and social implications of technology while developing innovative practice through experimentation, prototyping and research.

I welcome interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together students and colleagues from diverse creative and technical backgrounds to tackle complex challenges through experimentation and making. By connecting academic study with industry engagement, live projects and emerging technologies, I help create learning experiences that are ambitious, relevant and future-focused.

My research into AI, digital culture, authorship and immersive technologies continually inform my teaching, enabling students to question assumptions, explore new forms of creative practice and imagine alternative futures. I am passionate about cultivating curious, critically engaged practitioners who are equipped not only to respond to technological change but to shape it through creative leadership, ethical thinking and innovative practice.

Career overview

I have over a decade of experience in higher education, specialising in illustration, creative technology and interdisciplinary practice. My academic career has progressed from teaching undergraduate illustration to leading innovative modules across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, culminating in my current role as Course Leader for the MSc Creative Technologies at Nottingham Trent University.

Throughout my career, I have designed and developed curricula that combine creative practice with emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, immersive media and creative coding. Alongside teaching, I have supervised student research, led curriculum development and presented my work at national and international conferences.

My professional practice and research explore the relationship between technology, culture and creative authorship, informing a teaching approach that encourages experimentation, critical enquiry and innovation.
