Role
My role is to manage the Hand Flat knitwear resource in Bonington 116. This involves maintaining and repairing the hand flat machines, mainly comprising of Dubied hand flat machinery. Also demonstrating/teaching students techniques and troubleshooting knitting problems etc.

Career overview
After leaving school I attended college at Derby college and Nottingham Trent Polytechnic, completing City and guilds and ONC and HNC in knitting machine mechanics and textiles, whilst completing a knitting machine mechanic apprenticeship. I worked for many years as a knitting machine mechanic for Courtaulds and Toray textiles in various roles. I joined NTU in 2010 as a Senior technician, and then a technical specialist.
