Role

Rob joined NTU as Senior Animation Lecturer in 2019, specialising in 3D character and environment design, LookDev and film production. He is an experimental animated film maker with commercial experience as a freelance digital character and asset creator. Rob has extensive educational experience in teaching Animation in HE and English and Film Studies FE (MA, FHEA, PGCE).

Career overview

Rob became a researcher in Animation Practice at Nottingham Trent University in 2015 and gained a Masters (Distinction) in Digital Animation and Puppetry.

Rob studied (BA (Hons) English Language and Literature (History of Art subsidiary) at the University of Hull training as a teacher in English and Art. He worked freelance in the early computer games industry and as a 3D artist for Sheffield companies specialising in rendering and animation. Rob lectured at Sheffield College, teaching Film and English, and Media on the HE programme, contributing to the development of the Beacon award winning Online College. For 7 years as a Head of Department he led Media, Humanities and English at Hillsborough Campus, developing and teaching Digital Media and Film provision.
