Role

I teach on the BA (Hons) Textile Design course. I specialise in printed textiles and surface pattern design. I am currently a first year Module Leader.

Academic duties within this role include:

  • delivery of practical design led workshops
  • supporting students through personal and academic tutorials
  • project supervision
  • lecturing
  • design tutorials
  • assessment

Career overview

I am a multi-faceted Textile Designer with a keen eye for detail and a huge passion for working with fabric, materials, colour, texture, and patterns. With over 20 years experience in creating innovative, printed textiles for womenswear, childrenswear and interior markets. I joined NTU as an HPL in 2016 and became a part-time member of the team in April 2021. I have worked with a variety of studios and companies, from high end studios in Como, Italy – to suppliers and major high street retailers within the UK. I thrive on innovation, new ideas and creative exploration and love inspiring and encouraging others within this area.
