Dr Fanjul-Fanjul is a Senior Lecturer in Spanish. She is the Spanish Subject Leader and University Language Programme (ULP) Spanish Subject Co-ordinator. She has Module Leader responsibilities for Spanish Language Accelerated Beginners 3 and 4, Spanish Language (post A) two and ULP Spanish Stage 1.

Dr Fanjul-Fanjul completed an MA in International Cultural Studies at Nottingham Trent University on 1999 and was awarded her PhD in 2010 entitled 'Daughter of Fortune: Isabel Allende's Popularity from a Readership Perspective'.

Research areas

Dr Fanjul-Fanjul's research interests include:

  • Contemporary women's writing in Spain and Latin America
  • Reading groups
  • Cultural studies

She has written on Isabel Allende's fiction and on issues regarding Allende's reception trans-nationality.
