Role

Chinomso is a Senior Lecturer in Project Management within the Department for Strategy, Analytics and Operations.

Chinomso is module leader for:

She is an academic mentor to postgraduate students, a doctoral supervisor, and Learning and Teaching rep for SAO.

Career overview

Chinomso has years of experience teaching on Business and Management courses across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, include apprenticeship programmes such as CMDA.

Prior to her current position, Chinomso was the Deputy Head of DMUIC Business and Law at De Montfort University's International College.

Chinomso completed a PhD in Mechanical, Automotive, and Manufacturing Engineering at Coventry University, is a Full Member of the Association for Project Management (APM), a Chartered Management and Business Educator (CMBE), PRINCE2(f) qualified, and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA).

Her scholarship spans project management, organisation studies and management education, with particular expertise in research-based teaching cases. She has developed cases examining entrepreneurship, leadership, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, public programmes, humanitarian operations and community development, published by outlets including Sage Business Cases, Emerald Emerging Markets Case Studies, The Case Journal, The Case Centre and the Journal of Information Technology Teaching Cases.

Research areas

Chinomso’s research explores how dignity, belonging and identity are shaped by organisational, educational and project environments, with a particular focus on women, Black professionals and underrepresented communities. Through qualitative and conceptual research, she seeks to understand how institutions can better support human flourishing and how management education can prepare future leaders to build more respectful, inclusive and humane organisations.

Her current research interests include dignity and belonging at work, emotional labour, professional identity, motherhood and leadership, human-centred project management, temporary organisations, socially constructed understandings of project success, higher education and responsible AI-supported decision-making. She welcomes research collaborations and doctoral enquiries aligned with these themes.

External activity

Chinomso serves as an External Examiner for Canterbury Christ Church University on the BSc Business and Tourism Management programme, and as an EQA External Assessor for Lancaster University on the BSc Project Management programme.
